§ 17-90. Penalties for restricted vehicles.

No vehicle shall operate or be permitted to operate on any way owned or controlled by the city in violation of M.G.L.A. ch. 90 sec. 19 and 19A. At no time shall any vehicle operate or be permitted to operate, over a posted bridge, while exceeding such posting, as defined in ch. 85 sec. 34 and 35.

Violation of this section shall result in a penalty to be consistent with M.G.L.A. ch. 90, §§ 19, 19A and 20, also ch. 85, §§ 34 and 35.

Police officers appointed as public weighers or deputy public weighers shall be empowered to enforce the provisions of this article. Portable scales may be used as provided for in M.G.L.A. chapter 90 section 19A.
