§ 16-132. Construction by city; deposit of total cost; return of one-half of cost.

  • No sidewalk to be covered by concrete, cement, stone, brick or wood shall be constructed by the city unless and until the persons owning estates abutting thereon shall have deposited with the board of public works the total cost of grading, laying and constructing the same, as estimated by the board of public works. After the sidewalk has been constructed, the board of public works shall return to the abutters, in proper proportions, one-half of the cost of such construction and the excess of such deposit above the cost of such construction.
