§ 16-98. Grading, surfacing requirements.

  • Subject to the provisions of M.G.L.A. c. 41, § 77, so far as the same are applicable, no street or highway shall be laid out until it conforms to a grade determined by the board of public works and until the roadway has been surfaced with at least 12 inches of gravel or other equally good material so as, in the judgement of the board of public works, to be safe and convenient for public travel, and the board has filed with the council a certificate that the provisions of this section have been complied with except as provided by sections 16-99 and 16-100.
